FAQs

Why do you call it SuperFuzed?

People try to flavor oils in all sorts of ways – there are infused oils, fused/crushed oils, and “flavored” oils that can use any natural or artificial chemicals.  We tasted them all, and none compared to the intense flavor created by our trade-secret process and recipes. Why are the colors of each oil so different?

It’s the SuperFuzed flavor that permeates every drop of oil and the “herby” goodness at the bottom of every jar.  As the fresh garlic, shallots and peppers are roasted together, the oil takes on the colors of that oil’s special ingredients.   A better question might be, why are the other flavored oils NOT more colorful?

Are Joe’s SuperFuzed Oils hot and spicy?

How many stars are they? There’s a SuperFuzed Oil at every star level to make everyone happy!  Joe’s SuperFuzed Roasted Shallot Herb Oil is not spicy at all.  It’s designed to bring the intense flavor of an abundance of fresh roasted shallots and Herb de Provence to your palette without the heat.  Joe’s SuperFuzed Roasted Garlic Herb Oil is mildly spicy – just a hint.  Call it “1 Star.”  Joe’s SuperFuzed Roasted Poblano Chili Oil is the heated option.  But let’s not call it “hot.”  It’s just spicy enough to get your attention but not so much that you miss the intense roasted flavor of poblanos and jalapenos combined with Aleppo Chili.  Let’s call this Oil “3 Stars.”  Do you agree?  Let us know what you think!

Do I need to refrigerate after opening?

No, refrigeration is not necessary with Joe’s SuperFuzed Oils.  Some people leave their jars on the stovetop and use them almost daily.  With proper storage you can expect a two-year shelf life, but if you don’t use it before then you probably hid it in the back of the pantry and forgot it!   As every oil will age and become rancid over time, and heat and light will accelerate that process, keeping it in your refrigerator will make it last the longest.

Why aren't your jars tall and thin like all the other specialty oils?

Users of Joe’s Oil over the years have reaffirmed the wide-mouth design of the jar by the way they use the oil – it needs to be spoonable!  While tall, thin bottles are pretty, getting to the herby, roasted goodness is impossible.  Why make life harder?  Just open wide and spoon.

Why is this a blend of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Canola oil versus 100% olive oil?

Great question.  Joe created Joe’s SuperFuzed Oils to be the perfect oils for both dipping and cooking. Adding the Canola oil raises the smoke-point of the oil so it’s better for roasting!

What’s up with the little 4 ounce bottle of Joe’s?

That’s the size we have for existing customers to share with their friends for practically free.  Once you are a customer and on our emailing list, you’ll hear about this and other specials we have.  It’s also the size that’s perfect for gift giving as a trio.  Folks love receiving a 4 oz jar of each of Joe’s Oils in a beautiful gift box.

Who makes the product and where?

SuperFuzed products are made in small batches with love and caring hands in a boutique Co-packing facility in Washington State.

Why is it so expensive compared to other store oils?

We make Joe’s SuperFuzed Oils by hand in small batches with only the freshest, finest ingredients.  It takes hours to blend the ingredients and get the taste to develop – we’re not just mixing oil with a flavoring or extract like others.  Amazon charges us about $11 to ship the 16 ounce bottle in the USA including the box.  If we could sell it for less and stay in business, we would.
